Landon O’Heron improved to 3-0 on the year, throwing a 13-strikeout, three-hitter, as Caledonia baseball beat St. Charles 2-1. The Warriors (4-0, 5-0), Cotter (4-0, 5-1), and La Crescent/Hokah (4-0, 4-1) are each still unblemished atop the TRC-East. Levi Rogers struck out 10 in just 3 2/3 innings pitched as Fillmore Central/Lanesboro topped Goodhue 4-2 in non-conference action. Archer Semling struck out 10 but Houston fell to Medford 7-1. Claire Frauenkron struck out 12 and improved to 8-0 on the year while also homering and driving in four runs as #3 in Class A Houston softball topped Hayfield 13-1 in five innings. The Hurricanes (5-0, 8-0) lead the SEC over Southland (4-1, 7-1). Torryn Schneider homered but R-P softball fell to W-K 14-6. Tylar Wenthold struck out 16 but M-C also fell to W-K 4-2. R-P’s Jaxson Meldahl and Lanesboro’s Jack Brogle (37’s) each shot sub-40 rounds for area guys golfers on the week in head-to-head meets. The Trojan boys beat FC to improve to 3-0 in the TRC and overall. The Burros boys beat Kingsland to improve to 4-0 in the SEC and overall. Chatfield’s Carson Harstad took third at the PIZM Tourney, shooting two sub-40 rounds (35/38), an 18-hole 73. He had a hole in one on the seventh hole. Caledonia’s Hayden Harms (39) shot the best girl’s round of the week. Teammate Maggie Herman and Lanesboro’s Addison McCabe (42’s) had the next two best. The Warrior girls twice beat Cotter/HL to improve to 3-0 in the TRC, 4-0 overall. Kingsland girls golf beat Southland and Lanesboro to improve to 4-0 in the SEC and overall. Chatfield’s girls beat PEM to improve to 3-0 in the TRC and overall. At the Glen Amundsen track and field meet in Stewartville, GMLOKS’ Tate Goergen won the 400-meter (49.18) and 800-meter races (1:53.60), breaking meet records in each held for 30 and 31 years respectively (both by former Tiger Jason Owen).
