In volleyball play off play-in games, 16-seed Hayfield topped 17-seed Kingsland 3-1. Knight Paisley Robinson had 20 digs in defeat. The Knights finish at 4-19. Fifteen-seed Houston beat 18-seed Schaeffer Academy, 3-0. Section 1A top seed #4 in A Fillmore Central then topped the Vikings 3-0 while 8-seed Spring Grove beat 9-seed Southland 3-0 in Round of 16 games. Claire Sherburne had 31 assists, as the Lions avenged a season-finale defeat. The Falcons (22-6) and SG (16-12) will match up in a 1A quarterfinal. Two-seed #6 in A Mabel-Canton downed the Hurricanes 3-0, as Gwen Rein had 36 assists. M-C (29-3) moved on to face 7-seed NRHEG (20-7). Houston finishes at 10-16. Five-seed Grand Meadow beat 12-seed W-K 3-0. Hallie Hendrickson had 34 assists. Four-seed Alden-Conger topped LeRoy-Ostrander 3-0. The Cardinals finish at 10-16. GM (22-6) will play 4-seed A-C (22-6). Six-seed Lewiston-Altura topped 11-seed Lanesboro 3-0. The Burros finish at 15-15. In Section 1AA, top seed, #5 Caledonia topped 16-seed Lake City 3-0. Avery Augedahl had 30 assists, Aubrie Klug 24 digs. Eight-seed R-P fell 3-1 to 9-seed D-E. Torryn Schneider had 12 kills and 26 digs in defeat. R-P finishes at 17-6. Caledonia (24-5) and the Eagles (19-10) will meet in a 1AA quarterfinal. Two-seed and #4 in AA Chatfield beat 15-seed Blooming Prairie 3-0. Trindy Barkeim had 20 kills on .783 hitting, Harper Goldsmith 39 assists. Chatfield (22-7) will play 10-seed Z-M (14-14). In a 9-Man Section 1 football quarterfinal, Reid Hungerholt and Carson Roe each ran for over 100 yards with three total TDs as L-O/L/P beat Houston 37-0. Elsewhere, 3-seed Kingsland fell 34-14 to 6-seed Wabasha-Kellogg, as the Knights played without Kaaleem Reiland. Their season ends at 6-3. In Section 1AA, 7-seed Rushford-Peterson fell to 2-seed Triton 28-0. The Trojans’ season ends at 3-6. In a 1AA semifinal game, top-seed #9 Chatfield fell to 4-seed Rochester-Lourdes 21-7. The Gophers’ season ends at 6-3.
