Fillmore County Journal - Fillmore County Sports

Chatfield football (6-1), ranked #8 in AA, fell hard at #6 in AAA Pine Island (7-0), 30-0.

The Gophers (6-2, 6-2) share the Southeast-Central Yellow with Triton (6-2, 6-2).

Chatfield is Section 1AA’s 1-seed. They get a first round bye and will play either 4-seed Rochester-Lourdes (5-3) or 5-seed Dover-Eyota (4-4).

Kingsland volleyball got 33 digs from Paisley Robinson and came back from down 1-2 to beat Schaeffer in five sets (25-13, 22-25, 21-25, 26-14, 15-13).

The Knights (2-12, 4-18) are Section 1A’s 17-seed, play at 16-seed Hayfield (3-18).

LeRoy-Ostrander got 31 assists and 16 digs from Meah Stevens, 22 digs from Tessa Lewison, in topping Houston 3-1. Olivia Yohe had 19 assists and 22 digs in defeat.

The Cardinals (7-7, 10-15) are 1A’s 13-seed, play at 4-seed Alden-Conger (21-6).

Houston (5-9, 10-15) is the 15-seed, plays at 2-seed Mabel-Canton (28-3).

Spring Grove got 42 assists from Claire Sherburne and 24 digs from Izabel Kaufmann, but fell 3-1 to Southland.

SG (9-5, 15-12) in Section 1A’s 8-seed, hosts 9-seed Southland (13-6).

Lanesboro (8-6, 15-14) is the 11-seed, plays at 6-seed Lewiston-Altura (14-12).

In Section 1AA, idle Chatfield (21-7) is the 2-seed, faces 15-seed Blooming Prairie (4-20).
