Isaac Underbakke laid down a sacrifice bunt to score the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth (and he collected the pitching win) as Mabel-Canton baseball topped Alden-Conger/G-E 6-5 in eight innings. Tyson Stevens and Sam Howard each hit home runs, but GMLOK gave up a three-run bottom of the seventh to fall short of an upset bid versus #9 in A Southland, losing 8-7. Jack Schmitz struck out 12 in 4 2/3 innings pitched, but Caledonia fell 4-1 to Blair-Taylor. Tylar Wenthold struck out 16 and got the win as Mabel-Canton softball topped AC/G-E 12-1. GMLOKS’ girls won the Kenyon-Wanamingo track and field meet with Chantle Reiland winning three events (100, 200, 4×100). Teammate Amelia McCabe set the program Pole Vault record (9’3”). Caledonia’s J.T. Hammell medaled in the Warriors’ two golf outings with a 41 versus R-P, a one-over-par 37 versus W-K. Jack Brogle posted a one-over 37 as Lanesboro topped GMLO 172-191. Carson Harstad posted a two-over 38 as Chatfield topped D-E 189-205. In a tight golf match, R-P’s boys slipped by Cotter 176-177.
