Kingsland’s Beau Wiersma (RB), Parker Johnson (DE), and Ayden Howard (WR), and LeRoy-Ostrander’s Camden Hungerholt (QB), were honored as Nine-Man All-State in football. Wiersma and Johnson already earned Associated Press 2nd team All-State (all classes). Nine-man All-State HM selections included L-O’s Malyk Schaefer (OL/DL), M-C’s Cayden Tollefsrud (RB/LB), and SG’s Jaxon Strinmoen (QB/WR/DB). Houston’s Morgan Rohweder scored 30 points (six threes) in a 75-35 win over GM and 20 points in a 58-34 loss to Southland. He hit six threes each game. The junior averaged 22.3 PPG with 15 total made threes over three games. Camden Hungerholt scored 40 as L-O (3-0, 3-2) topped Schaeffer 71-46. The Cardinals have matched last year’s win total. Reid Klug scored 35 points (five threes) as Caledonia beat Sioux City-Bishop Heelan 71-67. Dawson Bunke went for 23 (pts) and 13 (rebs) but R-P fell to LC/H 72-64. Bunke then scored 25 points (six threes) in an 81-48 win over Faribault B.A. Cayden Tollefsrud scored 30 as M-C (2-2, 2-4) ended a four-game losing streak by beating GM 74-49. Mason Howard scored 22 points, but Lanesboro fell to MFL MarMac 68-45. Brayden Fretland scored 21 points (six threes) but Chatfield fell to St. Charles 67-52. Avery Kingsley scored 26 as Houston’s girls beat Southland 76-61. Kammry Broadwater scored 24 as FC beat LC/H 57-43. Ellie Ekern scored 22 points as R-P beat Faribault B.A. 61-31. Josie Foster scored 23 but Caledonia fell to Decorah 54-48.
