In the Friday rain, Rushford-Peterson’s Lilly West slides into third base as Mabel-Canton’s Lainey Hosting receives the ball. The teams finished the game the following Monday, with R-P posting a 13-8 win.

Houston softball (10-2, 14-3) dropped two big SEC games to Southland, 6-1 and 6-4. The Rebels (12-0, 15-1) win the SEC. Ellie Ekern went 4-for-5 as R-P beat FC/L 11-7. Ekern and Ava Drazkowski each had 4 RBI as R-P beat GMLOK 17-2. Ellie Anderson hit a home run, but FC/L fell to LC/H 14-3. Paige Klug had 6 total RBI, and Mackenzie Morey drove in four runs in the second game, as Caledonia swept a doubleheader from FC/L 19-0 and 18-1. Aspen Kolling pitched a five-inning two-hit shut-out as GMLOK beat L/P 14-0. Houston is 1A-East’s 2-seed, will host 7-seed FC/L (0-15, 1-19). R-P (2-13, 5-15) is the 5-seed, will play at 4-seed Goodhue (6-12). M-C (5-7, 7-11) is the 6-seed, will play at 3-seed W-K (7-13). Spring Grove (8-seed, 6-9) beat Schaeffer Academy (9-sed, 0-16) in a 1A play-in softball game and plays 1-seed Southland (15-1). Caledonia (7-8, 10-10) is 1AA’s 6-seed, plays at 3-seed Chatfield (13-5). GMLOK (7-5, 8-13) is 1AA West’s 8-seed, plays 1-seed Z-M (16-4). FC/L baseball lost both games of a key doubleheader with La Crescent/Hokah, 2-0 and 7-4. The Lancers (12-2, 14-5) win the TRC-East over the Falcons (10-5, 13-6) and Caledonia (10-5, 12-6). FC/L then beat R-P 14-5, as Stephan Schultz and Peyton Olson each drove in four runs and Gunner Benson hit a home run. Trojans Caden Johnson and Jonah Bunke each went yard in defeat. Dillon O’Connor was 4-for-4, but FC/L fell to Cotter 16-8. Drew O’Connor pitched six shutout innings and collected the win, as Chatfield beat PEM 2-0. Jack Dornack’s walk-off sac fly propelled the Gophers over Lourdes 5-4. Kyle Bechtel had 4 RBI as Caledonia beat Cotter 17-7. Ayden Goetzinger struck out 10 but got a no decision in a 2-1 Warrior loss to L-A. Cayden Tollefsrud pitched a 10-strikeout shut-out as M-C beat Goodhue 5-0. Chatfield (9-4, 14-5) is 1AA’s 5-seed, will host 12-seed Triton (6-10). Caledonia (10-5, 12-6) is the 6-seed, will host 11-seed Cotter (7-12). GMLOK (2-10, 3-15) is the 15-seed, plays at 2-seed D-E (16-3). FC/L (10-5, 13-6) is 1A’s 3-seed, hosts 14-seed G-E/AC (5-13). Spring Grove (7-4, 9-7) is the 8-seed, hosts 9-seed W-K (6-11). R-P (2-13, 6-14) is the 10-seed, plays at 7-seed JWP (10-6). Houston (3-9, 5-12) is the 11-seed, plays at 6-seed Hayfield (11-8). M-C (5-7, 6-13) is the 12-seed, plays at 5-seed K-W (10-8). Lanesboro boys golf beat Houston 165 to 213 and G-E 176-193. Hayden Lawstuen (37, 40) medaled each meet. The Burros (9-1, 9-1) and Southland (9-1 in SEC) each end the year with one league loss. C/SG’s Josh Beardmore won the 100, 200, and Long Jump competitions at the Chatfield Invite.
