Drew Yahnke pitched a 10-strikeout complete-game shutout as Caledonia baseball beat Cotter 3-0. The Warriors also split key games with La Crescent/Hokah, losing 7-0, winning 5-4. Garrett Konz collected the win and had the game-winning RBI in the victory. FC/L (7-1, 10-1), LC/H (8-2, 9-4) and the Warriors (7-3, 9-4) are atop the TRC-East. Chatfield beat GMLOK 18-1 for their 8th straight win. The Gophers were then swept in a key TRC-West doubleheader with D-E, losing 9-7 and 3-2 (both in five innings). Chatfield entered ranked #3 in Class AA leading the division. They (7-3, 11-3) left trailing the Eagles (9-2, 12-2) in the race. Elijah Solum hit a home run and had the game-winning RBI-single, and Brandon Jahnke struck out 11 (no decision), as SG defeated M-C 7-6. The Lions then beat M-C 12-5, as Ty Cleven picked up the win while striking out 12. SG (6-3, 6-3) also lost, 3-1 and 7-0, to SEC-leader #2 in Class A Lyle/Pacelli (8-0, 9-0). Logan Olson had 4 RBI, but Houston fell to G-E/AC 9-6. Chatfield softball went 3-1 on the week, losing to #5 in AAA Byron 7-4 on a walk-off three-run home run, beating L-A 6-4 and sweeping a doubleheader with D-E 14-0 and 7-0. Claire Springer struck out 10 in the loss to the Bears, 12 versus the Cardinals, and did not surrender a run in 10 innings pitched versus the Eagles. The #5 in AA Gophers (7-4, 9-5) trail #1 St. Charles (5-0, 13-0) in the TRC-West. Aspen Kolling struck out 10 and got the win as GMLOK beat Schaeffer 12-4, ending a four-game losing streak. Katelyn Kraus hit a home run in game two as SG got its first two wins, sweeping a doubleheader with L/P 6-4 and 6-2. Braelyn Lange hit a home run, but Caledonia fell 8-3 to Cotter. The Warriors then fell 2-1 in 13 innings versus La Crescent/Hokah. Lange pitched all 13 frames, striking out 21. Team Cal is now 2-4 in one-run games. Jensyn Storhoff and Regan Hanson each hit home runs respectively, but FC/L fell to PEM 21-2 and L-A 12-2. GMLOKS’ girls and boys each took first in nine of 15 events at the LC/H Invite. Anika Reiland (100, 400), Garrison Hubka (800, 1,600), and Lucca Sween (Shot, Discus) each won two many-entrant events. C/SG’s Josh Beardmore (100, Long Jump, 4×100) and Tysen Grinde (High Jump, Triple Jump) also won multiple events. Jake Fishbaugher shot a 38 in FC’s 178-219 win over Caledonia in boys golf, and then a 35 as the Falcons (5-0, 6-0) beat Crestwood 165-173. FC’s girls (5-0, 6-0) also won both meets. Chatfield’s boys beat St. Charles 178-199 to stay unbeaten (5-0, 5-0). Hayden Lawstuen shot a 38 as Lanesboro beat GMLO 174 to 207. Jack Brogle shot a 37 and Lawstuen a 38 as the Burros (5-1, 5-1) beat Kingsland 165 to 207.
