Caledonia’s girls ran their win streak to nine with wins over R-P (63-38) and Cannon Falls (69-28). The #14 Warriors (14-0, 22-3) completed a sweep of the TRC. They are 1AA’s 3-seed, will host the 14-seed Bombers (8-18) in the 1AA Round of 16. Kara Goetzinger scored 31 points, but Chatfield fell to St. Charles 64-62. The Gophers (10-5, 17-9) are 1AA’s 7-seed, will host 10-seed D-E (12-14). In 1A, GM (17-1, 24-2) is the 2-seed, will host either Schaeffer Academy (15-seed, 6-20) or W-K (18-seed, 1-25) in the Round of 16. Lanesboro (14-4, 20-6) is the 4-seed, will host Southland (13-seed, 6-21). Kingsland wrapped up its regular season by beating W-K 75-37, the Knights’ 20th victory. SG’s girls went 2-1 on the week, beating L-O 66-52 and M-C 60-22, losing to Houston 49-48. Addyson McHugh had 24 and 23 points in the wins over L-O and M-C, 20 points in the loss to the ‘Canes. The Knights (16-2, 20-5) are the 5-seed, will host 12-seed Lions (12-14). R-P beat La Crescent/Hokah 53-40 to win its fifth win in six tries. The Trojans (7-7, 16-10) are the 6-seed, will host 11-seed AC/G-E (11-13). FC (2-12, 11-15) is the 8-seed, will host 9-seed Houston (13-5, 14-12). Jordan Runde had 21 points, but the L-O fell to W-K 55-47. In play-in contests, M-C (5-13, 7-19) is the 15-seed, will host 19-seed USC (3-12) while the Cardinals (4-14, 6-20) are the 16-seed, will host 17-seed L/P (4-22). SG’s boys beat Kingsland (59-23) and GM (64-23) to run their win streak to 20. Tysen Grinde had 22 points versus the Larks. Eighth-ranked SG (17-0, 22-1) shored up the SEC-East title. Chatfield’s boys (9-3, 13-10) went 2-1 on the week, beating W-K 55-35 and St. Charles 75-42. Versus the Saints, Drew Schindler neared a triple-double (27 pts, 9 rebs, 9 asts) and scored his 1,000th career point. Isaac Stevens added 20 points. Eli Hopp scored 24 points in an 83-65 loss to #2 in AA Lake City. Mason King scored 23 points as TRC-East leading Caledonia (9-2, 12-11) beat Cannon Falls 76-67. La Crescent/Hokah (10-3, 17-8) trails the Warriors. Jayce Kiehne scored 22 points as FC (7-6, 15-9) beat Cotter 72-61. Cayden Tollefsrud scored 24 points and Jordan Larson 21, but M-C surrendered a 46-23 halftime lead and fell to G-E 92-81 in OT. Tollefsrud then went for 24 (pts) and 14 (rebs), but M-C fell to Schaeffer 69-42. Jayden Brink scored 25 points, but Kingsland fell to Schaeffer 75-71 in OT. John Prestemon scored 23 points, but Lanesboro fell to Cotter 58-57. Layne Bird scored 21 points, but L-O fell to W-K 65-43. FCLMC’s Orion Sass won his 100th career match in a loss to Chatfield.
