Chatfield’s girls went 2-1 on the week, beating Waseca 66-62, losing to Cotter 64-67, and beating D-E 60-58. Evy Goldsmith had 20 points and Anna Kivimagi hit two free throws with 0:03 to secure the win versus the Bluejays, Chatfield’s fifth straight. Kivimagi scored 26 points (14-15 FTs) in the loss to Cotter. The Gophers (9-3, 16-6) are a half game up on PEM (8-3, 11-8) in the TRC-West. R-P (6-6, 13-9) went 2-0, beating M-C 69-33 and FC 57-49. Kinley Soiney had 20 points in the defeat for the Cougars. Kaci Ruen had 30 points in a Lanesboro 77-51 win over Southland and 25 more in a 55-35 win over M-C. Sydney Torgerson had 21 points in a Houston 72-38 win over M-C and 24 more in an 86-46 win over L-O, as the Hurricanes finally got to .500 after an 1-4 start. Houston (10-3, 10-10) and Lanesboro (11-4, 15-5) top the SEC-East. Anika Reiland nearly had a quadruple-double (8 pts, 10 rebs, 11 asts, 10 stls) as Kingsland beat L/P 67-37. The Knights then beat Southland 46-26 for their 10th straight win. Benita Nolt had 20 points, but L-O fell to St. Charles 61-41. Grand Meadow boys got 21 points from Alex Lopez and 20 more from Jace Kraft in a 63-58 win over Houston, the Larks’ first (1-18). Mabel-Canton gave up an 18-point second half lead, but held on to beat Houston 67-59 in OT behind Cayden Tollefsrud 32 points. Camden Hungerholt scored 33 points as L-O’s boys beat Houston 64-58 to end a seven-game losing streak. Jayden Brink scored 20 points as Kingsland beat Alden-Conger 64-55. He then had 36 of Kingsland’s 61 points, but the Knights fell to Schaeffer 65-61. Kingsland (6-7, 8-11) had won five of six entering the meeting. Lewis Doyle had 21 points, but TRC-East leading Caledonia (8-1, 9-9) fell to #5 Maple River 69-52. Chatfield wrestling beat Pine Island 73-6 and Stewartville 66-12 to improve to 7-1, 12-2. The Gophers took second at the WEM/JWP tournament, as Carson Rowland (27-5) won 145 pounds. GMLOS wrestling (5-3, 11-5) went 2-1 at the Century Quad.
