GMLOS gal wrestler Diann Smith took second place at the Section 1-4 girls tournament. She qualified for the state girls meet. Kaylee Ruberg scored 25 points including her 1,000th as R-P beat L-O 63-50. Jordian Leahy had 33 points in a SG 74-63 win over L/P, and 20 in a 55-37 Lion win over Southland. She hit 22 of 27 free throws in the games. John Prestemon scored 20 points including hit a game-winning free throw line jumper to propel Lanesboro past M-C 51-49. Levi Royston scored 27 points as L-O beat GM 54-51. Lauren Queensland scored 27 points as GM’s girls beat AC/GE 64-30. Sam Volkart scored 26 points as L-O’s girls beat Schaeffer 52-34. Shelby Beck scored 21 points as Kingsland beat Schaeffer 67-44. The Knights swept through SEC play unblemished. Jayden Brink scored 23 points as Kingsland’s boys beat BP 56-50. The Knights also beat G-E 79-28 and Houston 65-33 to run their win streak to four. Cole Johnson scored 20 points as Chatfield beat W-K 57-46, winning their fifth straight. He then scored 21, but the Gophers fell to Pine Island 70-57. Cayden Tollefsrud scored 23 as M-C beat Houston 65-45. Sydney Torgerson scored 23 points as Houston beat L-O 61-44, running their win streak to five. She scored 25 in a Houston 55-44 loss to Randolph. Madison Simon had 20 points as FC’s girls won their fifth straight, beating L/P 75-44. Jayce Kiehne scored 20 in FC losses to LC/H 80-56 and Lanesboro 69-56.
