The Hoff Funeral Home “Frunge” Team is freezing for a reason on Saturday, March 7th to help raise money for the Healing Hearts Connection 17th Annual Frunge. As part of the Frunge, the Hoff team will be jumping into the icy waters of Lake Waconia and is currently taking pledges to help fund the Hearts of Hope Family Grief Camp.
“My parents helped bring this camp to Minnesota many years ago, and we have had some participation in some form every year,” said Ashley Hoff Czaplewski, owner and funeral director for Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service. “We are going all out this year with a Minion theme for the team, costumes, a big goal to raise $30,000 and we even managed to get Tim (Hoff) out of retirement to be our ‘Gru-p leader’ and frunge with us”, said Czaplewski as a kidding reference to the popular film series main character.
“Donating is easy and can be done online via our Facebook page, and every donation dollar helps offset the cost for camp and all of us have seen firsthand how camp can help families, both adults and especially kids” said Czaplewski. “We do our best to make it fun, get people excited to support us, and make sure we are smiling when we come out of the water…which is probably the hardest part!”
Czaplewski went on to explain the mission and share that Hearts of Hope Family Grief Camp, one of the first family grief camps in the country, helps families and individuals come together to heal. This two-day camp, gives every family member the opportunity to participate in integrated yet separate programs. Activities are mirrored in each program, providing shared experiences and a common language to use as they continue on their lifelong grief journey after camp ends.
