Fillmore County Public Health encourages all Fillmore County residents and visitors to continue practicing strategies that reduce the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. Fillmore County is seeing high community transmission of COVID-19, including the Delta variant, which spreads twice as easily as other virus strains.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends the following steps in areas with substantial or high community transmission of COVID-19.
•Wear a mask indoors, especially in congregate sites or if you have or care for someone who is immunocompromised, not fully vaccinated, or at greater risk of serve COVID-19 disease.
•Get vaccinated. Pfizer and Moderna boosters are now recommended for people who are immunocompromised. Fillmore County Public Health is routinely offers COVID-19 vaccine. A Vax-To-School COVID-19 Vaccination Event for people age 12 and older is available on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. Call Fillmore County Public Health at (507) 765-3898 to schedule an appointment for the Vax-To-School Event.
•Stay home if you are ill.
•Follow MDH guidance on staying home if you were exposed to someone who has COVID-19.
•Keep at least six feet away from people from other households.
•Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
•Clean and disinfect surfaces.
