Grace M. Miner

July 24, 2019 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal, Grace Miner obituary

Grace M. Miner, 92 of Winona, passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2019 surrounded by her family. Grace was born on September 15, 1926, to Henry and Anna (Tammen) Konken in Brownsdale, Minn. On February 1, 1948, she married Morris “Mike” Miner.

Grace had the joy of staying at home to raise her family, but also spent a lot of her time volunteering at Winona Health. She was also a member of the DORCAS Circle and a proud member of the Winona Lions Club.

Grace and Mike loved dancing together. Some of her favorite times were spent playing piano and guitar in their family band. She also enjoyed playing the harmonica. Grace’s faith was very important to her, and she was a member of Central Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, reminiscing of the many things they all did together.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Mike; nine children: Bonnie (Jim) Miller of Austin, Tex., Steve (Deb Swenson) Miner of Harmony, Minn., Jackie (Robert) Wenzel of Lewiston, Minn., Mike (Diane) Miner of Lime Springs, Iowa, Duane (Mary) Miner of Peterson, Minn., Annette (Mike) Tabor of Mazeppa, Minn., Marshall (Roxy Jetson) Miner of Mesa, Ariz., Kelly Miner of La Crescent, Minn., and Holly (Don) Thompson of Utica, Minn.; 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, brother Walter Konken; brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace is preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law, brothers, and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Central Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m., Friday, July 26 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, and from 10 a.m., until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Please leave a memory of Grace and view her video tribute when it becomes available at www.hofffuneral.com. Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, is assisting the family.
