He is Super
Everywhere we look we can find evidence of a Super-Scientist, a Super-Planner, and a Super-Artist. Although the word “super” means superior and extraordinary, it does not relate how really great God is. But for the sake of this article, it will suffice.
He knows what our lives need to survive and provides them. He makes the heavens work like clockwork. He planned for generations of plants and animals to reproduce themselves. He put us in families for the nurturing and protection of our offspring. He gives us ways to work for our sustenance. He empowers us to do that work. He provides us with knowledge and wisdom of which He is the Father. He has also provided a way for us to be redeemed from our sin sickness through Jesus Christ.
As the seasons come and go, we can see the cold, wind, ice and snow that He holds in His storehouse. And when the time comes for spring, He warms the soil and awakens the earth to once again show forth the beauty He has kept for us to enjoy. He stimulates us to reflect that beauty through design, gardening, song and poetry.
I personally am not an avid gardener, although I do have some gardens. I inherited several of them from my mother-in-law who enjoyed them tremendously. She committed time and effort to raise food, flowers and shrubs in them. I finally decided to take the plunge and with my husband’s help, we planted tulips and daffodils just outside our front window along our front walkway.
It took years for me to decide to invest in it, but I am so glad I did. Each spring, I rejoice at the spectacle just outside my door. It inspired me to set forth words into this poem. I hope you enjoy it.
Choir Outside My Window
Wenda Grabau © 2011
Shrouded in secret ‘neath a blanket of snow
Each singer awaits making entrance.
Nature revives resting voices, although
Time must pass before the performance.
Rainbow robes, trumpets bold, smiles aglow –
Their songs burst forth not making a sound.
Look, there is a choir outside my window
Standing stately on green carpeted ground.
The silent cantata captures my gaze
When led at the Choirmaster’s direction.
Songsters, arrayed for beauty in praise
Of the Artist’s creative perfection,
Reflect their Creator’s capable style.
I drink deeply with joy all the while.
So, when you see the Choir in your surroundings, listen closely so that you can hear His message to you.
