Chatfield’s golf teams each won or shared TRC-West titles a year ago. In their first two meets this year, Gopher swingers are again putting up low numbers. Hosting Lewiston-Altura as Chosen Valley Golf Course, Chatfield prevailed 173 to 193 behind co-medalists Carson Harstad and Brayden Fretland (41s). Gage Bartels (44), Colton Johnson (47), and Devin Reinhardt (48) also each shot sub-50. Anders Shurson (43), Michael Plass (46), and Lincoln Oslie (48) did so for the Cardinals. The Gopher girls won 225 to incomplete. Mya Henry medaled (50) with Taylor Ask three-shots back (53). Chatfield then trekked to St. Charles’ Golf Course to take on Dover-Eyota. The boys shot a nice collective 163 in winning over the 219-scoring Eagles. Fretland and Harstad again co-medaled with 40s. Johnson (41), Cole Novotny (42) and Bartels (44) gave Chatfield four with sub-45 scores. Reinhardt chipped in a non-team-scoring 46. Aidan Pristash had the Eagles low score, a 49. The girls won 219 to 325. Medalist Henry (48) and Ask (50) led the way. Each Gopher team improved to 2-0 in the TRC and overall.
