Wabasha-Kellogg hosted an 18-hole golf tourney that featured nine teams: FC, Caledonia, Lanes-boro, R-P, W-K, L-A, La Crescent/Hokah, D-E, and PEM. The girls side, which had eight full teams, was dominated by FC. Aaron Mensink’s group (347) bested second place Caledonia (367) followed by W-K (430) and Lanesboro (434). R-P (500) took eighth. Caledonia senior Elly Milde had maybe her best day of golfing, pacing the field with an 82 (43/39). She had nine pars, eight bogeys, and one double. Milde topped Falcons Courtney Hershberger (83 > 41/42) and Aubrey Larson (84 > 42/42), who took second and third. Hershberger had eight pars, nine bogeys, and one double. Larson had one birdie, nine pars, five bogeys, one double, and two triples. Falcons Lily Miller (89 > 45/44) and Chloe Morem (91 > 43/48) took fourth and fifth. Lanesboro’s Chloe Schnebly (92 > 43/49) and Caledonia’s Miranda Schroeder (92 > 44/48) tied for sixth while Warrior Lexie Hoscheit (93 > 43/50) took ninth. Myleigh Scheevel (10th place, 94 > 45/49) and Annika Mensink (12th place, 98 > 50/48) gave the Falcons six in the top 12. Caledonia 8th grader Hayden Harms (100) took 13th. Forty-three girls competed. On the guys side, TRC powerhouse LC/H (321) handled second place Lanesboro (338) and third-place FC (342). The Lancers had five in the top 11. Individual TRC heavyweights, Lancer Ryan Nutter (74 > 40/34) and Falcon Jake Fishbaugher (75 > 39/36), were separated by one stroke. Nutter had an eagle, two birdies, nine pars, and six bogeys. Fishbaugher had a birdie, 13 pars, and four bogeys. Nutter was two-under on his back-nine, Fishbaugher even par. Nutter had an eagle on the last hole to win the match. Caledonia’s Evan Hawkins (79 > 42/37) took third with an eagle, eight pars, and nine bogeys. Lanesboro had three in the top 10; fifth place Kaden Stettler (81 > 42/39), sixth place Hayden Lawstuen (82 > 42/40) and 8th place Jack Brogle (83 > 42/41). FC’s Luke Hellickson (11th-tie, 85), Brody Srsen (16th-tie, 91), Anthony Kiehne (16th-tie, 91), and Aiden Arnold (16th-tie, 91), Burro Dayton Haugen (19th, 92), R-P’s Sam LaFleur (20th-tie, 95), and Caledonia’s Evan Milde (20th-tie, 95) also finished top 20. Fifty-two guys competed at the par-72 Coffee Mill Golf Course overlooking the Mississippi River Valley outside Wabasha.
