R-P/Caledonia, Brogle/Warrior Duo Win Title at Trojans’ Tourney

Rushford-Peterson, Lanesboro, Caledonia, Houston, St. Charles and Lewiston-Altura gathered at R-P’s Ferndale Golf Course for a mid-season golf tourney. On the guys’ side, the host Trojans (332) topped Lanesboro (353), Caledonia (360), Houston (370), SC (379), and L-A (385). Burro frosh Jack Brogle continued his impressive year by shooting a four-over-par 76 (36/39). He topped nearest foe, R-P frosh Sam LaFleur (42/38 > 80). Brother Will LaFleur (42/40 > 82), Caledonia’s J.T. Hammell (40/42 > 82), and Trojan Jaxson Meldahl (43/40 > 83) rounded out the top five. Positions six thru ten were Houston’s Maddox Rodriguez (86), Caledonia’s Coby Hammell (87), R-P’s Jace Dvorak (87) and Kellen Drinkall (88), SC’s Marcus Rinard (88). Brogle notably took fifth at last year’s event, shooting an 87. His five nine-hole round scores this year have been 36, 37, 38, 36 and 39. On the gals’ side, Caledonia (361) topped Lanesboro (378) with SC (427) and L-A (565) also sending complete teams. The host Trojans were incomplete. Warrior sophomores Jazzlyn Hauser (41/47 > 88) and Hayden Harms (42/46 > 88) co-medaled. Hauser (88) was last year’s girls’ champion. Teammate Maggie Herman (43/46 > 89) and Burro 8th grader Addison McCabe (46/43 > 89) were one shot back. Lanesboro’s Grace Tufte (49/45 > 94) took fifth, followed by SC’s Makena Milard (96), Cal’s Emersyn Klug (96), Lanesboro’s Jentrey Schreiber (97) and Ellie McCabe (98), and Cal’s Ellison Harms (99). Forty-three guys and 22 girls competed at Rushford’s 18-hole, par-72 Ferndale golf course.

Mayo’s Flora Bolster and Lake City’s Mattie Mears (79s) co-medaled. Lourdes’ Allison Deutsch (84) took third. Lanesboro’s Addison McCabe (89) tied for 9th (of 35). At the 18-hole par-72 Austin Country Club)

(B and G) Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa Tourney (Stewartville’s boys (301) topped PIZM (302), Lake City (336), PIZM’s second team (354), PEM (363), and Chatfield (388). Stewartville’s Austin Walker (71) shot even par to win the individual crown with teammate Aric Cruz, Lake City’s Braxton Berlin, and PIZM’s Logan Schurke tying for second (74s). Chatfield’s Carson Harstad (76) finished tied for fifth. Thirty-three guys competed. PIZM’s girls (327) topped Rochester-Lourdes (349), and Stewartville (412). Chatfield was incomplete. PIZM’s Olivia Cordes (75) won the individual title over Lourdes’ Allison Deutsch (82). Chatfield’s Mya Henry (92) placed 12th place (of 20). Each event was played at the 18-hole par-71 Pine Island GC)
