Via a four-win week, Kingsland’s girls ran its win streak to five. Steve Hauser’s Knights used speed and depth to subdue Houston 63-48, Wabasha-Kellogg 58-29, Lyle/Pacelli 70-33, and Southland 65-60. The win over the Hurricanes saw Kingsland trail 34-33 in the second half, only to out-score the ‘Canes 30-14 to the finish. The Knights won on the glass 44 to 35 while outshooting Houston 24 of 62 (39%) to 16 of 56 (29%). Ryley Guy (10 pts), Katelyn Hauser (8 pts, 6 rebs), Macy Runck (8 pts), Chantle Reiland (7 pts, 5 rebs), Morgan Phillips (7 pts), and Hailee Warren (6 pts, 6 rebs, 5 stls) all contributed. Houston was led by Avery Kingsley (17 pts, 5-13 threes). Aubry Boldt (11 pts, 6 rebs), Olivia Yohe (8 pts, 5 asts), and Emily Botcher (7 pts, 8 rebs) helped. Twelve different Knights scored in the win over W-K. Phillips (16 pts, 6-8 FGs, 4-6 threes, 5 rebs) had the best game. Reiland (9 pts, 8 rebs, 4 asts) and Hauser (8 pts) helped. Thirteen Knights scored in the win over L/P. Hauser (13 pts, 3-5 threes), Guy (9 pts, 5 rebs), Jaelee Hagstrom (8 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts), and Runck (8 pts, 4 asts) did the best work. Kingsland shot 49% (28 of 57) including 10 of 21 (48%) from deep. Versus the Rebels, the Knights built a 49-36 second half lead only to see if cut to at 56-54. Hauser than hit a three (2:00) to stoke it back to five (59-54). With it 59-56, Phillips hit a three with just under a minute to go to, basically icing the game (62-56). Hauser (20 pts, 3-7 threes, 4 rebs, 4 asts), Reiland (15 pts, 5-7 FGs), and Phillips (11 pts, 4-4 FTs) hit double figures. Each team shot 40% but the Knights hit seven threes, Southland two. Kingsland is now 9-3 in the SEC, 13-5 overall.
