WEM/JWP “Mike Fasnacht” Tourney (Chatfield, ranked #9 in A, took second (126.5) to #1 in AA Simley (250) with #2 in A D-E (125) taking third. C. Rowland (#8 at 145) had the Gophers sole title. He went 5-0 (fall, fall, 10-1 major, fall, fall) to take his weight. Rowland is 27-5. J. Berg (#1 at 106), A. Miner (138) and K. Schott (#2 at 182) each took second. Berg went 2-1 (won fall, won 11-3 major decision, lost 8-7 decision to Simley’s #2 in AA Austin Grzywinski). Berg is 31-2. Miner went 2-1 (won 20-5 tech fall, won 5-4 decision, lost 11-5 decision to Simley’s #4 in AA Kaiden Schrandt). Miner is 21-9. Schott went 1-1 (won fall, lost 4-2 decision to Simley’s #3 in AA at 170 Travis Smith). Schott is 26-3. J. Pine Island Girls Tourney (Girls from GMLOS, Chatfield, LARP, and FCLMC competed. Tournament had A, B, and C brackets at some weights. GMLOS’ top finisher was Diann Smith (138A), who took second (won fall, won fall, won fall, lost 8-7 in the finals). Smith is 19-5. Mackenzie Armagost (120A) and McKenna Hendrickson (126A) each went 4-1 to take fifth. Armagost (18-6) won four falls while losing by 8-2 decision in the quarters. Hendrickson (16-2) lost a 17-3 major in the quarters, then won by fall, 3-1 decision, and 3-1 decision. Zoe Steinkamp (won fall, lost fall, won fall) went 2-1 to take second (120C). GMLOS had 11 girls compete. Chatfield’s top finisher was Eve Goetzinger (132A), who each took second. Goetzinger (7-2) went 2-1 (won fall, lost fall, won fall). Grace Finley went 2-2 to take second also (145B). Five Gophers competed. For LARP, Taylor Rothering-Oevering (114B) went 3-1 to take second, all matched decided by fall. Lauren Honken (107B) went 2-1 to take second, all matched decided by fall. FCLMC’s Katie Whelan (185) took third (of four))
