Gerald William Bartsch, 84, passed peacefully at Spring Valley Senior Living on November 11, 2024. Jerry was born September 3, 1940, in Owatonna, Minn. He was born to Frank and Monica (Maier) Bartsch. He grew up on the family farm with his two brothers. He attended school in Owatonna and Wykoff, Minn. Jerry served in the United States Army. He was married to Janice (Rowe) on September 23, 1961. Jerry and Jan spent the vast majority of their lives residing in the Preston and Carimona area. The two of them enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends at the coffee shop. Jerry spent many years farming with his dad Frank. Jerry then became self employed installing aluminum and vinyl siding for the late Jim White and Chuck Knies of Preston.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Janice (Rowe) of Spring Valley, Minn. Also survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Bartsch of Preston, and his special cousins Jan and Greg Bartsch of Geneva, Minn. Jerry is survived by many family in-laws, cousins, neices, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank and mother Mona (Maier), his two brothers, Douglas (Ruth) Bartsch and James Bartsch, as well as his nephew Kevin Bartsch.
A celebration of life will be held on November 19, at 1 p.m . The celebration will be held at B & B Olympic Bowl. Arrangements to be handled by Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home. Committal Service will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10 a.m.
