At the February 10 meeting of the county board, employees were recognized for their years of service at five-year increments. The board holds this recognition event on an annual basis.
Fourteen employees were recognized for being with the county for five years, six for 10 years, three for 15 years, two for 20 years, six for 25 years, and one for 35 years.
Wellness/activity awards were given out to 28 employees. Those receiving awards will receive gift cards from local businesses for their participation based on a point system.
Each year a Safety Award is given to one individual. This year it went to Jeffrey Quam who has been with the county for about eight years. He is a head mechanic at the Highway Department. County Administrator Bobbie Hillery said he makes sure the highway shops are safely operating.
Hillery thanked all of the employees for all they do. Speaking for the employees she said, “We care about our Fillmore County citizens.”
