On March 19, Logan Aaron Adler, 35, of Spring Valley, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Adler is charged with Fleeing Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, a felony with maximum criminal penalty of three years and one day imprisonment and/or a $5,000 fine. On or about March 17, within Fillmore County, a Sheriff’s Deputy allegedly observed a vehicle running a stop sign, swerving, and speeding. Despite the officer activating his emergency lights, the vehicle allegedly did not stop. It eventually pulled into a driveway with the defendant quickly getting out and running into the house, locking the door. The defendant later emerged, was aggressive, and refused arrest. He later allegedly tested a blood alcohol level of .172.
On March 22, Marshall Montgomery Rolfs, 26, of Preston, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Rolfs is charged with four 1st Degree Drug felonies. He is twice charged with Sale – 17 Grams or More – Cocaine or Methamphetamine with 90-Day Period, and twice with Possess 50 Grams or more – Cocaine or Methamphetamine. One “Sale” and one “Possess” offense each carry a maximum criminal penalty of 30 years imprisonment and/or a $1,000,000 fine. The other “Sale” and “Possess” offenses each carry penalties of not less than 65 months imprisonment or the presumptive fixed sentence under the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines, whichever is greater, nor more the 40 years and may be sentenced to payment of a fine of not more than $1,000,000, or both. On March 20, the Preston Police Chief was allegedly alerted to a man either deceased or sleeping in car, engine running. When awoken, the defendant allegedly confessed to using methamphetamine, and to having methamphetamine, as well as a large amount of cash, in the vehicle. The final weight of the meth found in the defendant’s vehicle allegedly tallied 230.7 grams and the amount of cash was over $5,000.
On April 1, Markus John Mulvihill, 26, of Fountain, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Mulvihill is charged with Drugs – 5th Degree – Possess Schedule 1,2,3,4 or Paraphernalia Residual – Not Cannabis/Hemp, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about March 31, within Fillmore County, a Sheriff’s Deputy, amidst a traffic stop, allegedly discovered a zip-top baggie containing methamphetamine (1.3 grams) in the defendant’s vehicle.
On April 8, Scott Alan Horsman, 54, of Rushford, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Horsman is charged with two felonies, 1st Degree DWI – Refuse to Submit to Chemical Test – Breath or Test Refusal Failure, and 1st Degree DWI – Operate Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol. Each offense carries a maximum criminal penalty of seven years imprisonment and/or a $14,000 fine. On or about April 5, within Fillmore County, amidst a traffic stop, the defendant allegedly showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. The defendant was then allegedly was belligerent and would not correctly complete a Preliminary Breath Test on multiple occasions. Horsman has previously been convicted for felony Criminal Vehicular Operation in 1993.
