On February 16, Tyler James Miller, 26, of LeRoy, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Miller is charged with four felonies; Drugs – 1st Degree – Sale – 17 Grams or More – Cocaine or Methamphetamine Within 90-day Period, Drugs – 1st Degree – Possess 50 Grams or More – Cocaine or Methamphetamine, Drugs – 2nd Degree – Sale 10 Grams or More – A Narcotic Other Than Heroin/Fentanyl Within 90 days, and Drugs – 2nd Degree – Possess 25 Grams or More of Cocaine or Methamphetamine. The First-Degree offenses each carry maximum criminal penalties of 30 years in prison and/or a $1,000,000 fine. The Second-Degree offenses each carry maximum criminal penalties of 25 years in prison and/or a $500,000 fine. Starting in September of 2023, multiple law enforcement officers began investigating the defendant for allegedly receiving and distributing methamphetamines. A Fillmore County Sheriff’s narcotics investigator was able to get a warrant to track the defendant’s phone. On December 21, a traffic stop was performed on the car Miller was riding in. A search of the vehicle allegedly resulted in the discovery of 387.5 grams of methamphetamine, an amount indicative of possession with intent to sell, barter, or deliver.
