On January 5, Jamie Charles Bronner, 41 of Chatfield, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Bronner is charged with Domestic Assault – Commits Act with Intent to Cause Fear, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about January 4, Chatfield Police responded to an alleged domestic disturbance. The defendant allegedly physically assaulted a family member. Bronner’s criminal history shows multiple prior qualified domestic violence-related convictions with the last ten years.

On January 12, Maurice Golston, 68 of Rochester, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Golston is charged with three felonies; Burglary – Second Degree – Dwelling, Burglary – 3rd Degree – Enter Without Consent with Intent to Steal/Commit Felony or Gross Misdemeanor, and Theft – Take/Use/Transfer Movable Property – No Consent. The first offense carries a maximum criminal penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine while the second two offenses each carry maximum criminal penalties of five years in prison and/or $10,000 fines. On or about January 2, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Spring Valley. Via security footage, victims alleged seeing a mysterious maroon vehicle at their residence and the driver allegedly went to the door (and entered), taking somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000. Two other nearby residences allegedly reported the same suspicious vehicle around the same time. Upon obtaining a search warrant, officers were able to use Golston’s cell phone to trace its location, which was in the vicinity of the three residences in question at the time of the crime.

Golston’s vehicle also allegedly match the surveillance videos and eye witness descriptions.
