On August 24, Adam Jay Nash, 32 of Canton, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat. Nash is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about August 21, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence in Canton regarding an allegedy domestic assault. The alleged victim stated that Nash had left cocaine in the bathroom. The victim allegedly produced the (white powdery) substance in a small clear plastic bag while stating no one else had been in the apartment that day. Nash was subsequently arrested and taken to detox per a .220 P.B.T. The substance found in the apartment was later field tested and confirmed as cocaine.
