On June 5, Ryan Lee Allen, 29, of Chatfield, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat. Allen is charged with Domestic Assault – Intentionally Inflict or Attempt to Inflict Bodily Harm, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both. On or about June 4, the defendant allegedly, amidst an argument with a significant other, inflicted bodily harm on said person. Allen has two or more previous qualified domestic violence-related offense convictions or adjudications within the last ten years, to wit; he has prior conviction for 5th Degree Assault (sentenced January 2013) and prior conviction for Violation of Harassment/Restraining Order (sentenced March 13).
