On November 8, Laura Lynn Kahoun, 33, of Rushford, appeared before District Court Judge Jodi L. Williamson. Kahoun is charged with Threats of Violence and Malicious Punishment of a Child, each felonies with maximum criminal penalties of five years in prison, $10,000 fines, or both. On or about November 5, within Fillmore County, the defendant allegedly did directly or indirectly threaten to commit any crime of violence with the purpose to terrorize another or in a reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror, and the defendant, being a parent, legal guardian, or caretaker, allegedly by intentional act or a series of intentional acts, with respect to a child, evidenced unreasonable force or cruel discipline that was excessive under the circumstances, and the defendant has a prior conviction for Domestic Assault in Fillmore County for which she was sentenced 6/25/2013.
