On December 19, Bryce Aaron Reed, 40, of Stewartville, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Reed is charged with Domestic Assault – By Strangulation, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of three years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. On or about December 18, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched regarding a male victim alleging his (step) son had tried to kill him. The stepson had been living with the victim, had been drinking, and allegedly tried to choke the victim to death. The victim had visible red marks on his neck. When arrested, the defendant allegedly put up a fight and did not go quietly.

On December 29, Daniel L. Yoder, 22 of Mabel, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Yoder is charged with Criminal Vehicular Operation – Substantial Bodily Harm – Alcohol Concentration 0.08 or More. It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of three years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about December 27, a State Patrol Trooper responded to a two-vehicle crash in Fillmore County. The defendant allegedly crossed the center line and hit another vehicle that had four inhabitants, causing significant injuries (including broken bones). Yoder’s blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was allegedly .182. 

On January 5, Davone LaQuin Jordan, 30 of Minneapolis, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Jordan is charged with four counts of Violate No Contact Order – Within Ten Years of the First of Two or More Convictions. Each is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or $10,000 fines. On December 9, a victim contacted the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department regarding the defendant allegedly violating a Criminal Domestic Abuse No Contact Order issued in Ramsey County on December 3, 2024, and an Emergency Order for Protection issued in Olmsted County on December 9, 2024. The defendant was not to have direct, indirect, through others, in person, by phone, in writing, electronically or by any other means with the victim. From February 2025 thru April 2025, when the orders were active, the defendant allegedly sent four letters to the victim’s residence, letters addressed to the defendant’s/victim’s two children (who were under two years old at the time), and the victim’s name was included in the communication. Jordan has two prior convictions for DANCO violations in Isanti (2019) and Olmsted Counties (2022).
