Fillmore County Board of Commissioners met in a special session at the Courthouse in the City of Preston. 

Present: All members, Administrator/Clerk, other staff, citizens, and the press.

John DeGeorge, Sheriff

  • Board approved to renew IES Vesta Phone Service for E911 Services for $9,806.31
  • Board approved the purchase of 8 TV enclosures for the jail for $8,203.64
  • Board approved payment of 2025 SEMNECB Membership Dues of $9,000.00

Kathryn Frette, Assessor

  • Board approved purchase of data processing system thru Pro-West & Associates with installation price of $3,658.08, with monthly invoicing

Heather Broadwater, Auditor-Treasurer

  • Board approved 2025 Fee Schedule, with exception of Public Works
  • Board approved 2025 Official Newspaper bid from Fillmore County Journal at $13.95 per inch 

Lindsi Engle, Human Resources Officer

  • Board approved final draft of Electronic Communications Systems Use Policy
  • Board approved the phone stipends for 2025, Tier Two now $25 and Tier One at $15
  • Board approved to advertise for replacement Social Worker as requested by the Personnel Committee and Social Services Manager
  • Board approved the Retirement of Sheriff’s Office Captain, Phillip Whitacre, effective February 27, 2025, after 28 years of service

Bobbie Hillery, Administrator

  • Board approved first amendment drafts to Ordinance #20230523 Hemp and Cannabis
  • Board approved payment of Fillmore County Jail Project Paybook #20

OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Board approved to dedicate a portion of tax forfeiture receipts to parks in accordance with MS 282.08
  • Board approved the 2025 County Board Meeting schedule, including Board of Appeal and Equalization, and Truth and Taxation
  • Board approved the Per Diem Rate of $45 for 2025
  • Board approved the Mileage Reimbursement Rate for private vehicle of $.70 per mile for 2025
  • Board approved increasing the temporary entry-level staff hourly rate for Grade 3/Step 1 to $15.20 in accordance with 2025 non-union pay plan
  • Board approved the salary for County Commissioners for 2025 at $28,900.49
  • Board approved the salary for County Attorney Brett Corson for 2025 at $152,600.00
  • Board approved the salary for County Sheriff John DeGeorge for 2025 at $139,482.00
  • Board approved the salary for Chief Deputy Lance Boyum for 2025 at $120,969.00
  • Board approved to reimburse for Memorial Day expenses for veteran organization ceremonies
  • Board approved authorizing elected officials, department heads and division leaders overnight stays to attend their respective annual Professional Association of Minnesota Conferences
  • Board approved County payment for flu shots
  • Board approved use of the County Website as an alternative method for bids
  • Board approved the 2025 delegates for Association of Minnesota Counties and Policy Committee Delegates
  • Board approved F&M Bank and MAGIC as the designated banks for depositories for 2025
