Where We Left Off in 2023: The Falcons went 10-5 in TRC play, tying for second with Caledonia in the East. FC/L had a six-game post-season run. They played to make the 1A title game but fell to Southland 8-3. FC/L finished a very good season at 17-8, taking third place in the section (equaling the program’s deepest post-season run).

Juniors: Carter O’Connor (OF), Owen Schoepski (IF), Tyson Sprenger (OF/P).
Key Returning Underclassmen: Thomas Pikula (So. OF/P), Levi Rogers (So. P/C).
Outlook: The Falcons had a strong season last year, but it came much on the backs on an eight-man senior class that included five All-TRC pics; Stephan Schultz (1B > .365 average, eight 2B, two HR, 31 RBI, 21 R), Bryce Corson (.319 average, 13 RBI, 42 R, 20 SB), Dillon O’Connor (P/C/OF > .319 average, 24 RBI, 28 R, 22 1/3 IP, 8 BB, 26 K, 5.02 ERA), Cooper Ferrie (P/OF > 47 1/3 IP, 4-3 record, 25 BB, 44 K, 2.96 ERA, .281 average, 11 R), and Ty Sexton (.312 average, 19 RBI, 24 R, 21 2/3 IP, 4-1 record, 6.79 ERA). FC/L returns only two players to have impacts a season ago in sophomores Levi Rogers (.300 average, 20 RBI, 16 R, 23 1/3 IP, 2-2 record, 9 BB, 24 K, 4.80 ERA) and Thomas Pikula (defensive player). Tyson Sprenger and Carter O’Connor also played sparingly. It will thus be a reboot for the Falcons. But Coach Jones has been in a similar reboot before, in 2021. The Falcons entered that season having not played in 2019 (no team) and 2020 (COVID) utilizing a bunch of sophomores who became last year’s seniors.
