Fillmore Central FFA has had busy activities and events throughout the 2025-2026. To start us off, in October, 23 FFA members traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., to the 98th National FFA Convention. While there, members had the opportunity to explore colleges, learn about career opportunities, and discover new technology in agriculture. In addition to attending sessions and career expo, members visited the Caterpillar Visitors Center and toured Fair Oaks Dairy Farm, gaining firsthand experience.

Competing at the National FFA Convention, Kinley Rindels, Olivia Rindels, Charity Kingsley and Grace Kingsley represented Fillmore Central in the Veterinary Science Career Development Event, showcasing exceptional knowledge, professionalism, and skill on the national stage. Their hard work paid off in a major way, Grace Kingsley earned the title of National Champion, while Charity Kingsley secured an outstanding 2nd place finish individually. Together, the team achieved Silver Team honors.

Throughout the school year, Fillmore Central FFA members have competed in 13 different FFA Career and Development Events. Four teams have already secured their spot for the MN FFA 2026 State Convention. These teams are Horse Evaluation, Dairy Evaluation, Soils, and Floriculture. There are still upcoming regional competitions ahead, and members are continuing to study and practice with hopes of increasing the number of teams advancing to state.

At the end of February, to kick off FFA week, the officer team has planned out some dress up days throughout the week for the student body to participate in. On Wednesday, the FFA officer team will travel to the elementary, to visit and present lessons to K-6 classrooms. To finish off FFA week, officers will serve ice cream Friday during the lunch periods. Before the school day ends the Chapter Officers will be hosting an Ag Olympics for students to participate in. The events include a Hay Bale Toss, FFA Attire Dress-Up, Milk Chugging Contest, and a game of Steal the Bacon. Participants from each grade level will be competing, making it fun and engaging for everyone.

In addition to competitions, members have been dedicated to make sure we have successful fundraisers to support our chapter. As a chapter, we cannot thank our communities enough. We had a successful fruit sale. Along with the sale, members helped with our corn drive. Many members went around to local businesses and people in the community asking for donations. The support from the community is tremendous and is always greatly appreciated.
