Faye Owens obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Faye H. Owens, 84, of Houston, Minn., passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home.
Faye was born on June 10, 1941, in La Crosse, Wis., to Homer and Florence (Manion) Stelplugh. Faye grew up on the family farm in Looney Valley, Minn. This fostered her love of horses, animals and the outdoors. She attended Lower Looney Valley Country School through the eighth grade and went on to graduate from Houston High School in 1958. Faye married Jon Owens, and from this union three sons: Christopher, Craig and Stuart were born. The two later divorced.
Faye’s adventurous spirit led her to get her private pilot’s license, playing bass in the family Blue Grass band, and countless hours spent trapshooting. When she was not on an adventure, she would spend countless quiet hours lost in a book. Family was her true passion; she loved them more than they will ever know. Her love extended into the community, as she was affectionately known as Grandma Faye.
Faye is survived by her sons; Chris of Peoria, Ariz., Craig (Kathy) of Montgomery, Minn., and Stuart (Lori VanGundy) of Houston, Minn.; grandchildren Weston, Hannah, Ashley and Dylan; many great-grandchildren, sister in-law Jean Stelplugh, special friends Roger Lorenzen and Sue Laska, ex-daughter-in-law Mara Owens, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Shirley VanGundy, Robert Stelplugh and grandson Ethan.
Faye’s family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, for their wonderful care, support and friendship to Faye and her family during this difficult time.
Hoff Funeral Home Houston is assisting the family. Please visit www.hofffuneral.com to leave an online condolence.
