Ervin Lavern Davidson, 89, of Chatfield, died on July 19, 2026, at his home. He was born in Orion township, Chatfield, Minnesota, to Samuel and Sarah (Gipes) Davidson on June 13, 1937. He was the youngest of 10 children and attended country school in Cumingsville District, then Chatfield Public School.
On July 3, 1956, he married Mary Sparrow. He worked as a farm hand, garbage route for Lloyd Greenlee, Nelson Tire Town recapping tires, The Zumbro Hotel for many years, and drove school bus for 53 years for the Bernard family, as well as farming. He started the Orion Township hog roast when they put up a new building. He was the Orion Township road grader for several years.
He is survived by his wife Mary, son Donald (Kelly) of Wykoff, daughters Pam Bluhm of Chatfield, Debra Smith, and Nancy (Len) Klein of Akron, Ohio, daughter-in-law Laurie Davidson, along with 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Ervin is preceded in death by his parents, sons Larry and Richard, and siblings Lloyd, Vivian, Loretta, Iva, Doleres, Robert, Darrell, Loren and Roland.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 9-11 a.m. at Joy Ridge in Chatfield, Minnesota. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. following the visitation, with Paster Peter Haugen officiating. Ervin will be laid to rest at Sumner Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Chatfield.
