Emily T. Bearman, age 92, of Harmony, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at Gundersen Harmony Care Center in Harmony.
Emily was born March 2, 1926, the daughter of William and Emma (Wilhelm) Lietz in Granger, Minn. Emily was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Granger. She graduated from Harmony High School then went on for teacher’s training and taught in the early 1950s. Emily was united in marriage to Leo Bearman on February 24, 1955. They made their home in Waterloo, Iowa.
Emily was a longtime employee at Shower’s Insurance Co. in Waterloo. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. She moved to Harmony in 2008.
Emily is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Lietz and Loretta Lietz; many nieces and nephews, two stepsons, Duane and James and their families.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1973, her parents and five siblings: Paul Lietz, Henry Lietz, Dorothy Johnson, Martha Biel, and an infant sister.
Memorials can be directed to St. Matthew’s cemetery. Emily’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Heartland Hospice and the Gundersen Harmony Care Center in Harmony for the wonderful care given to Emily.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
