Elvin Clifford Paulson, age 84, of Rushford, Minn., died Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.
Elvin was born November 28, 1940, in La Crosse, Wis., the son of Clifford and Marion (Unnasch) Paulson. He was a lifelong farmer in Rushford, farming with his brother Milford. Elvin met the love of his life, Marlys Danielson, and they were united in marriage September 23, 1961, at North Prairie Lutheran Church. Marlys and Elvin were 4-H leaders and enjoyed their card clubs. He was involved in the township board. He was a faithful member of Highland Prairie Lutheran Church, serving as a member of the Council many times over the years. He loved deer hunting and sitting around the table with his brother and brothers-in-law, telling stories and playing cards.
Elvin is survived by his children: Marcia (Thomas) Johnson, Brian Paulson and Julie (Dan) Milian; grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Amy, Laura, Ava and Owen; great-grandchildren Jaxton, Ian, Avalon, Ashlyn, Mara, and Bryston; honorary grandchildren Cashton, Jaxie, Bricker, Ryker and Heiden Dahl; brother Milford (Linda) Paulson, sister Carolyn (Duane) Jonsgaard, brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard Lykken, Linda (Tom) Jensen, and Linda Danielson
He is preceded in death by his wife Marlys Paulson, his parents, son Daniel, and brothers and sisters-in-law Vernon (Jackie) Danielson, Gerald (Barb) Danielson, Phyllis (David) Ellis, Marilyn Lykken, Gloria (Nevin) Vrieze, Roger Danielson, Bob (Marge) Danielson, and Darlene (Bruce) Sutherland.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church with Rev. Jackie Short officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be held at Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
