Eleanor Davidson

December 18, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Eleanor Davidson obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Eleanor passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Whitewater Healthcare in St. Charles, Minn.

Eleanor had a variety of jobs, but was especially proud of working at The Produce in Lanesboro where they provided poultry and eggs to the troops overseas during WWII. She worked approximately 20 years at Rush Products. In her retirement, she truly enjoyed working at the Rushford Depot until age 83.

Eleanor enjoyed attending local plays and music events, stitchery, and dancing. She loved playing Whist, Solitaire, and especially Wordsearch. She had quite the miniature shoe collection! Eleanor was also a devoted and life long member of First Lutheran Church of Highland.

Eleanor was very social, always wanted to be where the action was, and always seemed to be concerned about the next person. She was known as “sweet and sassy.” She loved being a grandma and had a special heart for children. She was friends with everyone and even traveled to England to meet her long-lost pen pal.

Lanesboro was always her Happy Place.

Eleanor is survived by her children Gary (Sharon) Davidson, Jeffrey (Louane) Davidson, Nathan (Denise) Davidson and Heidi (Randy) Omodth; grandchildren Jeffery (Melissa), Brian (Cristina), Patrick (Jayme), Matthew (Tracy), Kendra (Trever) Eide, Marcus and Mitchell (Jessi); and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her parents Oscar and Jeva (Ladsten), and brothers Ronald (Mildred) and Donald (Rita).

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at First Lutheran Church of Highland, 22423 391st Avenue, Lanesboro, Minn., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will also be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, 4-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home 780 North Mill St., Rushford, Minn. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Lanesboro Cemetery.

Thank you to Whitewater Healthcare staff and Seasons Hospice for their outstanding care.
