Edith Jewell Johnson, age 95, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., into God’s loving arms.
She was born on July 30, 1928, in Black Hammer, Minn., to John and Emma (Ness) Rostad. On June 11, 1950.
Edith Rostad was joined in marriage to Clarence Johnson. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1997.
Edith was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved the Lord and shared her faith with her children.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Alma, brothers Benny and Bernhard, and brothers-in-law Wayne and Amos.
She is survived by her sister Marian, her nine children: David (Marie), Mark (Kathy), Mary (Dean), Steven, Kristine, Susan, Paul, Ann and Lori.
She cherished her 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Edith enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers and plants, caring for her cats, animals, reading and spending time with family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Pastor Lane Zaffke will officiate. Burial will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 4-6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, as well as on Friday, April 26 from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.
