Early childhood educators play a crucial role in preparing young minds for their educational journey. At Fillmore Central, we offer a range of programs for families with children from birth to age five, catering to all levels of child development.
Our School Readiness and Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECSE) at Fillmore Central aims to help students feel comfortable in a classroom setting and equip them with the necessary tools for a smooth transition to kindergarten. With a 4-Star Parent Aware Rating, our program stands out for its commitment to preparing children for school and beyond.
Our preschool experience, open to children aged 3-5, includes the integration of special education students into our classrooms, fostering friendships and promoting acceptance of differences. We also follow the Pyramid Model, an evidence-based framework for promoting healthy social and emotional development in young children.
Additionally, Fillmore Central School Readiness, ECFE, and the One Block Child Care Center collaborate with ECSE staff and students to provide early intervention services aimed at identifying and addressing developmental difficulties or delays in children at the earliest stages.
For children under the age of three, we offer a family-centered model of services delivered through home visits by district staff/consultants, while services for children aged three to five adopt a center-based approach with specialized services provided within the classroom.
Our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program, serving children from birth to age five, focuses on strengthening families through parent education and support to promote healthy growth and development in children. ECFE sessions are held in Harmony and Preston and provide opportunities for children to play, sing, and socialize, while parents receive valuable parenting skills, information, and support.
At One Block at a Time Childcare Center, our mission is to provide nurturing learning environments for children aged six weeks to five years. We offer age-appropriate activities aligned with MN early learning standards, delivered by state-licensed, CPR/First Aid certified staff who receive ongoing childcare training. Our SAC (School Age Childcare) program provides a safe and supervised environment for school-aged children, offering a variety of activities to promote positive growth experiences.
In addition to our youth programs, Fillmore Central Community Education strives to enhance the quality of life in the community by offering lifelong learning opportunities for individuals of all ages.
