January 3, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Doris Schleusner obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Doris “Nanny” R. Schleusner, 80, of Fountain, Minn., died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Our House in Austin, Minn.

She was born January 22, 1943 to Robert and Lucille Dodge. Doris married Arnold Schleusner on July 20, 1960. The two farmed near Douglas, Minn., until 2001, when they moved to Fountain to continue farming. Doris had a green thumb that took her to farmers markets in Pine Island, Rochester, Lanesboro and Chatfield for many years. She enjoyed gardening and horseback riding. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, quilting and baking her favorite bread and buns. Some of her favorite pastime activities were daily crossword puzzles, reading and crypto quote puzzles. Doris enjoyed her country music and was a true Elvis groupie.

Doris is survived by her children Wayne (Linda) Schleusner of Dodge Center, Minn., Bruce (Darla) Schleusner of Fountain, Minn., and Lynne (Royal) Dempewolf of Spring Valley, Minn.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, twin brother Morris (Donna) Dodge of Pine Island, Minn., and sister Alice (Rich) Witter of Muscatine, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, parents Robert and Lucille, sisters Lois and Irene, and brother Loren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston, Minn., from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

A private burial for immediate family will take place at a later date.
