Donna F. Smith was born in Rochester, Minn., on January 22, 1959. She was 61 years old when she passed away peacefully on September 28, 2020, in Petaluma, Calif. Donna loved music and books and she had a beautiful smile. She was known as a happy person and will be missed.
Donna will be buried at the Spring Valley Cemetery in Minnesota along with her parents, Erwin and Leona Smith. They had seven children together. Donna had seven sisters and four brothers: Marilou Thompson (deceased) of Charles City, Iowa, Doris Ranc of Charles City, Iowa, Robert Smith of Kellogg, Minn., Isabel Smith of Suisun City, Calif., Miles Smith of Burr Oak, Iowa, Alice May Smith of Austin, Minn. Her mother had five children from a previous marriage: Edith Serafine (deceased) of Harmony, Minn., Merrill Slafter of Nebraska, Jennie Kyseth of Spring Grove, Minn., Marvin Slafter of Spring Grove, Minn., and Sharon Walker of Santa Rosa, Calif.
Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff and hospice that cared and comforted Donna in her final days. Also a very special thanks to Micheline Justman of Santa Rosa, Calif., for all her help with Donna’s care.
