Donna Bestor obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Donna H. Bestor, 87, of Houston, Minn., died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis. 

Donna Helen Hermanson was born on March 15, 1936, in Spring Grove, Minn., to Herman and Beulah (Vickerman) Hermanson. 

She was raised in the Blackhammer, Preston and Harmony areas. Donna married Wayne Bestor on September 10, 1955. After first getting married she and Wayne lived in the Oronoco, Minn., area. They raised their children for a few years in the Harmony area and mostly in Houston, Minn. Donna worked for Rush Products in Rushford, Minn., for 26 years. She also did babysitting and home cleaning. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, sewing, and following her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.

Donna is survived by five children: Rosie (Kevin) Paulson, Brad Bestor, Vicki (Grant) Olson, Tammy (Greg) Boldt, and Stacy Vix, all of Houston; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, two siblings: Naomi Wangen and Ben Hermanson; sister and brothers-in-law: Wanda, Georgia, Verlaine, Dallas (Connie), Cheryl (Tom), and Susie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four children: Allan and three who died in infancy, and two brothers: Gaylord (Donna) and Bud.

There will be a funeral service for Donna at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, Minn. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Granger, Minn. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 11, from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home in Houston and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
