Donald H. Jordahl, age 86, of Rushford, passed away at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Donald Henry was born on March 17, 1939, in Good Thunder, Minn., the only child of Henry (Norma Mary Etta Missling) Jordahl. Don attended country school and then graduated from Lake Crystal High School. Following graduation, Don entered the United States Navy on January 18, 1961, and served until his honorable discharge on January 15, 1965. Don was a proud veteran who served aboard the USS Independence out of Norfolk, Va. He met his wife Myrna Lena Boese on a fishing expedition and they married on April 12, 1964, at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Hart. The couple farmed in the town of Hart and then moved to Morristown for a short time, returning to farm where they began. Don and Myrna raised their children in the town of Hart and were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Don loved to hunt, fish and play cards. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to watch them play sports over the years.
Don will be greatly missed by his children Scott Jordahl of Newman, Calif., Stephan (Jody) Jordahl of Lewiston, Sue (Alan) Bahler of Harmony and Sharon (Corey Leff) Wood of Granger, Minn. He is further survived by grandchildren Robert, Austin and Logan Bahler; Lucas and Gavin Jordahl, Jeremy (Harlea) Wood, Jecob Wood, Jolene, Nathan and Hudson Jordahl, the Lucas family and two great-grandsons, Silas and Bodie Wood.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Myrna.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hart, with Reverend Thomas Volker officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bahler, Austin Bahler, Logan Bahler, Jeremy Wood, Jecob Wood, Nathan Jordahl and Hudson Jordahl.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Following a time of luncheon and fellowship, burial will be held at Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Preston at 3 p.m.
