Dixie Liberty Rudlong

June 18, 2025 by Fillmore County Journal

Dixie Rudlong obituary, Fillmore County JOurnal

Dixie Liberty Rudlong, born June 11, 2025, took her last breath in the loving arms of her parents Benjamin and Natalie Rudlong of Chatfield, Minn., on June 17, 2025. Though the time spent with their beautiful baby girl was too brief, they shared enough love for a lifetime with her during unexpected complications following her birth. They will honor her precious life (and the impact it had and will continue to have on countless people) with a private memorial service.

Dixie is survived by her parents, grandparents Eric and Vicki Ford, Preston, Minn., Ben (Gigi) Rudlong, Spring Valley, Minn., and Nancy Rudlong, Chatfield, Minn.; great-grandparents Alvin and Donna Rudlong, Spring Valley, Minn., Jacqueline Soukup, Preston, Minn., and Franklin Barton. Dixie will also be forever remembered in the hearts of her aunts Julianna (Alan) and Maciah Ford, Shellanea, Hilary, Lydia, Ellaleah, and Milanea Rudlong; and uncles Ethan Ford and Zachary Rudlong; sweet cousins Fayble and Evelyn Mouchet; as well as many great-aunts and uncles and extended family members.

She will be held in the arms of Jesus and the loved ones who have gone before her.

Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Eric Ford, 213 Washington St. NW, Preston, MN 55965. A memorial fund is being set up to assist with expenses at the First State Bank of Fountain, P.O. Box 83 Fountain, MN 55935, “Dixie Rudlong.”

The little one we hoped for was swiftly here and gone, but the love that she has planted, is a light that still shines on.

My heart hurts for your entire family. My sister was also taken to Heaven as a baby, I wasn’t even born yet, but I still feel the lifelong pain my mother goes through every year on her birthday and death day. May the Lord watch over you all and continue to guide you through this difficult time of loss and grieving. God bless. 💕
