Diane S. Sievers

December 17, 2018 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal, Diane Sievers obituary

Diane S. Sievers, 81, of Rushford, Minn., died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her home.  Diane was born on August 6, 1937, in Rushford, Minn., to Clifford “Kip” and Helen (Fossum) Ebner. She was raised in the Rushford area and was a graduate of Rushford High School. On April 19, 1958, she was united in marriage with Wayne Sievers in Inglewood, Calif. Following their marriage, Diane and Wayne raised their two daughters in Inglewood and Fallbrook, Calif. In the late 1990s Wayne retired and they moved back to Rushford. Through their retirement they spent many of their winters traveling to warmer climates across the country in their motor home. Diane loved searching for antiques and had a knack for decorating. She was the personification of her Norwegian heritage, fun loving, gracious, kind, and humble with a touch of elegant stubbornness.  She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She loved her family fiercely, and was always available to listen, laugh, celebrate, and fuss about all of life’s ups and downs. She took great pride in her grandkids, and celebrated their accomplishments. Diane always served the Lord through choir, women’s auxiliary, or volunteering. She lived as an example of faith and grace.

Diane is survived by her husband Wayne R. Sievers, daughters Brenda Remington and Susan Provost, grandchildren: Kristin Remington, Kelli Remington, Hunter Remington, A.J. Provost, and Connor Provost; great-grandchildren Reggie and Ziggy Young, siblings Richard “Dick” (Jeanne) Ebner, Margaret Dewey, Barbara Daniels, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service for Diane at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn., with the Reverend Harold Hintzman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mayo Clinic Hospice 200 First Street SW, Rochester, Minn. 55905 in Diane’s name.

Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements.
