Delmar Good

Delmar Good obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Delmar was born May 19, 1928, in Marengo, Iowa to Milo and Myrtle (Back) Good. He attended the Bluffton country school. In November, 1950, he entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was discharged in August 1952 after being wounded in Korea and receiving the Purple Heart. After his return from the Army in 1952, he was united in marriage to Joan Ward. They lived in Evansdale, Iowa ,where Delmar worked at the Rath Packing Company. In 1969 they moved to Prosper, Minn., where he helped Milo on the farm. He and Joan have also been the caretakers of their son Paul. Delmar was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, telling stories, and his grandchildren. 

Delmar passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Harmony Care Center in Harmony, Minn., at the age of 94. 

Delmar is survived by his wife Joan of Mabel; his children Tim (Sandy) of Canton, Steve (Deb) of Cresco, Mike of Fountain, Susan Hanson of Burr Oak, and Paul of Mabel, grandchildren Justin Good, Danni Good, Nicole (Curt) Kleve, Chris Good, Caitlin (Caleb) Kimball, Cody (McKenna) Nagel, and Tyler Solie; great-grandchildren Cameron, Hudson, Jazzy, Tyson, Roczen, Caysen, Adaline, and Ryder; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kevin, son-in-law Curt Hanson, and siblings John, Alice Ladley, and Jessie Allar. 

A graveside service will be Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.

Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
