Debby Kvam, 56, of Green Bay, Wis., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay, after a brief illness.
Debby was born on August 29, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wis., to James & Sharron Schenker. On May 11, 1996, she married the love of her life, Allan E. Kvam of Canton, Minn., and together they raised two boys, Michael and Kevin, in Green Bay.
Debby was a member of Incarnation Lutheran Church in Green Bay where she taught Sunday School to the elementary children for several years. As everyone knows, Debby was a big NASCAR fan and she was able to attend several races throughout the United States. Even though she lived in a Minnesota Vikings house, she remained a loyal Green Bay Packer fan. Debby was also a huge pet advocate, caring for her own cat and volunteering at several local animal shelters.
When the boys were younger, Debby was very involved with their activities, including working with the Cub Scouts, and helped out with their awards programs. She always made sure the boys were at their soccer practices and other events around town. During her teen years she was very active in the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 801. At the time of Debby’s death, she was employed with Humana, Inc. in Green Bay.
Debby is survived by her husband Allan and stepsons Michael (Carie) Kvam and Kevin Kvam, sisters-in-law Diane Lange Culbertson, Vicki (Dennis) Christianson, and Karen (Ed) Kauphusman; and a brother-in-law, Marty (Darcy) Kvam as well as many other friends and family.
Debby was preceded in death by her parents.
Debby’s family would like to thank the staff at the ICU of St. Mary’s Hospital and Unity Hospice in Green Bay for their care and compassion. Visitation for Debby was held at Newcomer Cremations on Wednesday, September 28 from 3-5 p.m. and was followed by a brief Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m. with reception afterwards.
