Darrel Michael Houdek, age 57, of Caledonia, Minn., passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023, at Rochester Mayo Clinic with family by his side, from complications with a short battle with cancer.
Darrel was born January 30, 1965, in Cresco, Iowa, to Lyle and Geneva (Reicks) Houdek. He attended schools in Caledonia and Cresco. Darrel worked at various jobs in the area. He enjoyed being busy and helping out at the Houston County Fair.
He is survived by his daughter Jessica (Greg) Tomlinson, two grandchildren, Leighla and London Tomlinson; siblings Linda Anderson, Jim (Kathy) Houdek, Wayne (Kris) Houdek, Sharon (Dan) Svoboda, Elaine (Ron) Stika, and Carol (Bruce) Walters; sister-in-law Deb Houdek, many nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Donna Jane.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1978, his father in 2000, and his brother Lyle in 1997.
Visitation will be Friday, January 6 from 9-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m at the Four Seasons Community Center in Caledonia.
