Danny “Hogan” Allen Hungerholt passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Danny was born on November 11, 1944, in Newburg Township, Minnesota, to Daniel and Minerva (Nelson) Hungerholt.
Danny was a true Packer fan at heart. His love for sports expanded far beyond football; he had a passion for baseball, having played at the Triple-A level for one season and many seasons of Legion softball. Danny was also a celebrated Golden Glove boxer.
Life for Danny was best enjoyed with a Coors Light in one hand and a cigar in the other, often regaling those around him with his spot-on Mr. Magoo impressions. He had a heart full of love for his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, who brought him endless joy.
Danny had a unique talent for making people feel welcomed; he always had an extra plate of food ready just in case someone stopped by.
Danny is survived by his daughters Karmen Baker and Amy (Mason Eide) Steinfeldt; grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Adam, Ellen, Bradley, Greg, Kimberley, Bailey and Zachary; 16 great-grandchildren, and his sister Shirley (Larry) Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, daughter Cindy Kleist, his parents, and siblings Merlin, Irene, Lavern, Myriel, Duane, Luellan and Janet.
A funeral visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2026, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home, 780 N. Mill St. Rushford, Minnesota, and burial will take place at Hongerholt Cemetery in Peterson, Minnesota, at 2 p.m.
