Daniel Eugene Cambern

December 24, 2018 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal, Daniel Cambern obituary

Daniel Eugene Cambern, 81, of Fountain, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018.

Daniel was born on January 9, 1937, to Daniel and Evelyn (Smith) Cambern in Preston. He graduated from Preston High School in 1956. He married Marjorie Bushman on December 6, 1958, in Stewartville.

After high school, Daniel worked at Dayton’s in Rochester, the Preston IGA, and Drury’s Furniture. Daniel was then employed as a Fillmore County deputy sheriff for 23 years. Daniel enjoyed many pastimes, including being an avid Twins and Vikings fan, hunting, fishing, gardening, and many other outdoor activities. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Daniel is lovingly remembered by his wife Marjorie, four children: Daniel Dean and Randy of Rochester, a daughter Sheila (Joel) Walbridge of Fountain, and Brian of Murray, Utah; three grandchildren: Miranda (Andrew) Hearrold, Mitchell and Marcus Walbridge; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Evelyn Hearrold; brother Ernest of Preston, and sister-in-law Leona ‘Beezie’ Cambern of Fountain.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willie, and an infant sister.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, at the United Methodist Church in Preston, with Pastor Deanna Woodward officiating. The committal service will follow at the Carimona Cemetery in rural Preston. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield is assisting the Cambern family with arrangements. To share a condolence with the family, please visit rileyfuneralhomes.com.
