LARPH Hosts First Meet with Chatfield, LFC
LARPH cross country hosted its first of two meets, this one at Ferndale Golf Course. Each race was cut to 4,000-meter per a warm humid afternoon. The other two teams competing were Lanesboro/Fillmore Central and Chatfield. New state polls were released that day, with the LARPH boys ranked #2 to Redwood Valley. Section foe Cotter was ranked #3. L/FC’s girls were ranked #8 with top Burro runner Autumn Rakosnik cracking the top 10. The ranked teams and individual ruled the day. LARPH’s boys had the top six finishers for a perfect score of 15 to beat L/FC (53) and Chatfield (71). Trey Hegland (14:20) won his first varsity race by one second over teammate Aaron Ploetz (14:21). Wyatt Kreidermacher (14:27), Isaac Rasmussen (14:30), Brennan Kunst (14:30), and Grayson Speltz (14:31) finished third thru sixth places. Hunter Rislov (15:03) and Matthew Sprague (15:08) took eighth and ninth to give Matt Kingsbury’s group eight in the top 10. LFC had the other two, Riley Grant (14:36) in seventh place and Andy Brown (15:20) in tenth place. Thirty-five guys competed. On the girls side, L/FC (23) topped Chatfield (47) and LARPH (67). Rakosnik (15:51) won her second meet of the year, topping Chatfield’s Lexi Kivimagi (16:57) and Charlotte Oeltjen (17:41) with much distance between each of the three. Rakosnik also won the D-E Meet (20:20). She has taken second at the Stewartville and La Crescent/Hokah meets too, each a shorter distance. It was Kivimagi’s fourth top three finish, as she previously took third at Stewartville, first at Hayfield Meet, and third at D-E. L/FC then had places fourth thru seventh with Lillyan Kiehne (17:45), Charity Kingsley (17:51), Grace Kingsley (18:08), and Olivia Rindels (18:33). Eliza Cullen (19:11) took ninth to also crack the top 10 for the Burros. Vada Larson (18:49) took eighth to lead LARPH. Chatfield’s Kylie Sinn (19:23) rounded out the top 10 finishers.

Pine Island Meet (Jordan (38) topped Shakopee (73) for the boys’ team title. GMLOS (118) took sixth of seven full teams. Z-M/K-W, Byron, Pine Island, and Cannon Falls also competed. Shakopee’s Logan Antony (17:35.6) topped ZM/KW’s Caleb Kevan (17:42.5) individually. Junior Carter Glynn (18:21) took tenth overall to lead GMLOS. Teague Alden (19:20.4) took 18th place and Abe Phillips (19:53.8) 26th place to crack the top 30. Eighty-five guys competed at the 5,000-meter race. Byron (43) topped Shakopee (63) for the girls’ team title. GMLOS (117) took fifth of six complete teams. Z-M/K-W’s Lily Duden (20:42.9) topped Shakopee’s Camila Galvan-Ortiz (20:46.2) individually. GMLOS was led by Naomi Warmka (22:14.7), who took eighth place. Audrey Main (24:43.1) and Sadie Bustad (24:43.6) took 24th and 25th. Seventy-three gals competed at the 5,000-meter race)
Lake City Meet (Austin’s girls (37) topped Stewartville (54) for the team title with Kingsland (179) taking eighth of nine. Packer Marissa Schute (12:25.4) topped Lake City’s Olivia Yotter (12:39.6) for the girl’s individual title at a 3,200-meter race (per a warm day). Lake City, Goodhue, D-E, W-K, St. Charles, and Kasson-Mantorville also competed. Kingsland senior Kylie Meyer (13:41.4) took 16th place of 62. Kingsland does not have a boys’ team. K-M (71) topped Stewartville (73), and St. Charles (77) for that team title with Komet David Obst (10:05.7) topping Saint Ivan Daood (10:23.7) for that individual title)
Winona-Senior “Jim Flim’ Meet (LARPH’s boys (92) took third behind Winona (29) and Belle Plaine (77) with Chatfield (308) taking 13th of 15 complete teams. Leo Lohnes (16:47.7), Phineas Van Fossen (17:03.3), and Kedrick Boucek (17:07.5) went 1-2-3 for the Winhawks. LARPH’s Isaac Rasmussen (17:20) and Brennan Kunst (17:33.8) took sixth and tenth. Grayson Speltz (18:23.5) and Aaron Ploetz (18:25.7) took 23rd and 24th of 108 total runners. Faribault’s girls (34) topped Belle Plaine (64) and Pacelli (102). Chatfield (175) took seventh and LARPH was incomplete of 10 complete teams. Rochester-Century’s Sophia Comfere (20:29.6) topped Faribault’s Brynn Beardsley (20:45.9) for first. Chatfield’s Lexi Kivimagi (21:03.8) and Charlotte Oeltjen (23:12.4) took sixth and 23rd respectively. LARPH’s Caitlin Bauer (22:25.9) took 16th. Eighty-two total gals competed
